Welcome Back
A very warm welcome to the 2015/2016 academic year and an especially warm welcome to the new families who have joined us. It has been wonderful to see lots of happy faces this morning and we have enjoyed a smooth start so far.
Bradbury is a very special place of learning, where the emphasis is on the development of the whole child, with strong pastoral support and care for all members of our community being important to us. We enjoy being here and trust that you will feel welcomed as soon as you and your child step through the door!
A very warm welcome also to the staff who have joined us:
Aoife NiChianain – Y1 teacher
Michelle Truman – Y2 teacher
Sharon Piatek – Y3 teacher
Sigrid Balle – Y6 teacher
Zac Dickinson – Y6 teacher
Catherine Blacklaws – Head of Learning Support
Nicola Jackson – Head of P.E.
Rosie Fong – Part time P.E. teacher
Rebecca Hardman – Y1 Educational Assistant
Billi Skiff – LSC Educational Assistant
Sam Campbell – Y4 Part time Educational Assistant
This year at Bradbury, we have two main focus areas for review, staff development and in depth analysis
– Mathematics
– Action in the P.Y.P.
We are looking forward to sharing more about these areas with you over the course of the year. Of course, we will continue with a strong emphasis on the other areas of the curriculum as well. We have our ‘Meet the Teacher’ nights scheduled for the following dates:
Y1 & Y2 – 27 August 2015
Y3 & Y4 – 1 September 2015
Y5 & Y6 – 31 August 2015
Another date to note is our school closure day on Friday 4th September (the day after this year’s extra public holiday) for staff CPD.
More information will be coming out in our regular school newsletter. A real tradition at Bradbury is our fabulous school picnic where the idea is just to come along with a blanket and a picnic and mingle, and meet other Bradbury parents. The tentative date for this is Friday 18 September, so I look forward to seeing you all there and catching up!
Regards,
Sandra Webster
