PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Parents,

Greetings to you all. What a fantastic day last week’s Action Day was! It turned us from a ‘school’ into a ‘community’ as together we packed 2,400 food bags, using approximately 420kgs of rice, we packed 1,500 soap recycling hygiene kits, swapped toys, visited local restaurants to pass on our environmental message and cared for the elderly close to us.

Thank you so much to all of the students, parents and volunteers who gave your time and/or supported this initiative through your donations. Thanks to Clayton Heggie who had the vision for this day, to Amanda Bremner who worked with him to realise it and to all staff who supported it most enthusiastically.

The charities we supported were: All the very best to our Tournament of the Minds and Bradbury Factor— ‘A Night of Stars’ Showcase contestants. Thanks to all of your support for these wonderful events that acknowledge and give a platform for our students’ many talents. Thank you.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Congratulations to all the children who participated in the BOB club this year and committed their lunchtimes to practising and battling. Twelve children were selected to represent Bradbury in the annual Hong Kong Battle of the Books competition yesterday. Our team battled with a challenging group, competing against five other teams to win a place in the final. The team battled exceptionally well and answered their questions accurately. It was wonderful to see the students’ team spirit and skills of cooperation and collaboration during the competition. Their hard work during the year certainly paid off as we won second place in our group. Well done to the team who performed brilliantly on the day and read diligently throughout the year to read, and know in depth, twenty books!
